The joy of driving, the excitement of performance, and high standards of German Engineering are requirements that set the stage for every Volkswagen. Power, intelligence and efficiency come together in almost every feature of the 2011 Touareg Supercharged Hybrid.
The all-new VW Touareg – an SUV more sophisticated than Shakespeare’s bones

We recently ran into Bill Hader (money may have changed hands) and got his take on a few VW cars and SUVs including the all-new VW Touareg. As no surprise, the outcome was suitably hilarious to publish on the web. Watch the late night comedy veteran crack wise opposite VW product specialist Danielle Gumro. Topics range from the Touareg’s rear hatch and Hader’s auspicious upbringing all the way to the SUV’s eight-speed transmission and the true final resting place of William Shakespeare. So whether you’re interested in learning a little about the Touareg while laughing uncontrollably, or just have a thing for jumpers, please enjoy.

We are extremely proud to announce that six of our models have earned the prestigious Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) Top Safety Pick award for 2011. In fact, VW has more 2011 IIHS Top Safety Picks than any other brand, so it’s not just another lovely notch in our safety belt, it’s also bragging rights. But that’s neither here nor there.

It’s the holiday season and with it comes teeth-chattering weather and nasty driving conditions. But the all-new 2011 Volkswagen Touareg provides a breath of deliciously fresh, chilly air in the mid-sized SUV category and handles the winter practically like a cool spring day. A perfect example: Banff, Canada. Known for “its bone-chilling temperatures, and slippery ice-covered roads and trails,” Banff provided the perfect site for a bunch of automotive reporters curious about how the handsome ride handles the vicious weather.
Quick, light, efficient and luxurious: The 2011 VW Touareg almost redefines “nice”

We’re just going to admit it, we like nice things. We especially like nice cars. That’s why we make them. We also like fuel efficiency* and reducing our carbon footprint. And if you combine a nice car with the opportunity to reduce our carbon footprint, then we’ll really like it. That thinking, at its core, shaped the production of the 2011 Touareg. With TDI® clean diesel, gasoline and hybrid options for drivetrains, and all the luxury trimmings you’ve come to expect from a Volkswagen, it is very nice indeed.
