Designed in Germany and made in America, the Passat was developed as a larger vehicle with premium features and handling characteristics that will perfectly match it with the tastes and lifestyles of Americans. It will be built in Chattanooga, Tenn., at the world’s newest, most advanced and environmentally responsible auto assembly plant.

WHAT’S NEW -- 2012 VW Passat: All-new for 2012, the VW Passat offers a more spacious cabin but keeps the luxurious interior and affordable German engineering that car shoppers expect from Volkswagen. The mid-size sedan, which debuted at the 2011 North American International Auto Show, will be built in America at VW’s new Chattanooga assembly plant.

As we get closer to joining the community of Chattanooga, Tennessee with our new assembly plant for the 2012 Passat, we decided to take a moment to reflect on the concept of community itself. We’re proud of the communities our brand inspires. It’s in our DNA. We have our Beetle communities and our Bus fans and people who simply identify with the VW brand. And now, we’ve got Chattanooga.

Volkswagen of America has joined forces with Fender Musical Instruments Corp. to bring the raw emotion of a live music performance inside the four doors of Volkswagen’s all-new 2012 Passat. The company’s partnership with Fender will equip select 2012 models, including the Passat, with the Fender Premium Audio System.
Does Chattanooga love VW as much as we love them? “Heavens, yes.”

Volkswagen’s newest assembly plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee is isn’t even open, but the community is already embracing Volkswagen more than ever before. The new plant, which will be the production home of the all-new 2012 Volkswagen Passat, has driven (sorry, we couldn’t resist) increased sales of Volkswagen models in Chattanooga.
