  1. Passat under $20,000? I don’t believe it.

  2. Ok, just read the 2012 Passat Pricing Press Release and I believe the list price.

  3. According to the test drive countdown the time has been moved back 1 month. Why?

  4. A bit of a bummer , I was hoping for a CC that had been upsized about 10%. That is a sweet looking car.
Instead , we get ultra non-offensive plain jane styling. It’s not ugly , but it’s afraid to make a statement. It will help VW reach its 800 ba-zillion cars sold goal though.
I am super happy about the TDI available with a manual though . I wish you could get that in the upper trim levels instead of only the base TDI package.

  5. Just used the Build your Own and went away disappointed. I selected the TDI with a manual transmission and was locked out of selecting the Sunroof and SEL packages. Sorry no matter how good the DSG transmission, I don’t want one. I will not buy a Passat without the SEL package, the leather interior, and the manual transmission. I had high hopes for this car, too bad those hopes have been dashed.

    • Ironically, I feel the exact same as Randy Jamieson. I would like to purchase a STANDARD TRANSMISSION, TDI Clean Diesel WITH A SUNROOF. I’ve owned standard shift cars for 30 years, all of which had sunroofs, and I’m not going to compromise now. I presently have a 2002 5-speed Honda Accord EX with a sunroof and all the bells and whistles (no leather, please). So Mr. VW Chairman, if you’re listening…please include the sunroof option on the TDI manual transmission model.

    • This is so lame VW! I have owned 2 Passats (still own one). Both GLX loaded. One 01.5 sedan stick, one ’05 4Motion wagon (Tiptronic required). I am very open to the possibility of owning a TDi for the phenomenal mileage and good torque (acceleration). .But I am not going to buy my manual TDI without: leather, sunroof, navigation, power seats, Fender audio, etc. You can get all those features if you opt for the DSG. No thanks! Give me a real transmission (manual). VW is going to lose sales because of their ridiculous trim level restirctions!

  6. Kewl you shuold come up with that. Excellent!

  7. Passat Wagon TDI 4 motion mit 6 speed manual ! When and where to pick that up?!

    • My 99 Passat wagon is ready to be replaced. I want a Passat TDI wagon. I may have to buy an Outback if VW doesn’t launch the Passat TDI wagon soon.

Please VW … Passat TDI wagon NOW!

  8. I noticed in the technical specs how both gas engines now have timing chains, but the TDI still has a belt that needs to be periodically replaced. And it if breaks will probably destroy the valvetrain!

  9. How come no wagon or 4Motion? Give us choices! Any engine, either manual or auto (DSG) transmission), either FWD or AWD, any seat material, high end options available with any engine!

  10. Hello VW and people.
Am so happy about the design redefinition… Kinda loving the TDI power and economy. A sunroof on that would make the feeling complete.
Am writing in from Nigeria… When is this hitting the the west African market?
Make it fast VW… We are waiting

  11. I am currently considering buying my next Passat. I want leather seats (not leatherette) but I don’t want a sunroof. I am told that this is not possible. is this correct? And, if so, why?
