Behind the Scenes with Bill Hader and the Volkswagen Jetta TDI
April 27, 2011 1 comments
“Behind the Scenes: Jetta TDI” is the latest addition to the VW webisode series “Inside the VW Academy.” In this episode, Saturday Night Live comedian (and part-time stunt coordinator) Bill Hader joins VW product specialist Danielle Gumro for an in-depth look at the Volkswagen Jetta TDI, as well as an insider’s account of the making of the video.
Bill Hader vs. the “dangerously roomy” all-new 2011 Volkswagen Jetta
January 5, 2011 2 comments
As if it isn’t already great for the price of good, the all-new 2011 Jetta just added one more big feature: the comedic stylings of Bill Hader. Watch him, alongside a VW product specialist, explore the sedan’s best-in-class rear legroom, and we do mean “explore.” Then catch their comparison of the Jetta to the Civic, which may very well get us sued. Yes, we may be a little biased, but there’s no doubt the man is funny. Between quips you’ll even learn a thing or two about the VW sedan, including its keyless entry, optional touchscreen navigation, and available 177 lbs/ft of torque. If you’re a Jetta fan, or a Bill fan, do yourself a favor and watch this now.
Volkswagen Leads Industry with Six TOP SAFETY PICK Awards from Insurance Institute for Highway Safety
December 21, 2010 9 comments
We are extremely proud to announce that six of our models have earned the prestigious Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) Top Safety Pick award for 2011. In fact, VW has more 2011 IIHS Top Safety Picks than any other brand, so it’s not just another lovely notch in our safety belt, it’s also bragging rights. But that’s neither here nor there.
The All-New 2011 Volkswagen Jetta is Great for the Price of Crazy on Gilt Groupe This Week
December 16, 2010 0 comments
You might’ve heard that VW partnered up with Gilt Groupe to sell a Jetta a day, starting Wednesday and running until Friday, for the ridiculous price of $5,995. That’s a full $10,000 off the base Jetta S trim price, which was already so good our accountants briefly passed out when they heard about it. Yesterday’s sale was only for Gilt mobile app users, which, as you would imagine, diminished the number of potential buyers. Did that hurt us? You be the judge. The first 2011 Jetta on Gilt.com was in the customer’s cart in one second and went from zero to SOLD in under five minutes. Not bad, huh? We thought so.
The Automobile Journalists Assoc. of Canada named the 2011 Jetta TDI Best New Family Car for under $30K. Next we’ll try for the N. American Car of the Year Award!
