The AP loves the new 2011 VW Jetta

Ann M. Job from the Associated Press recently had the opportunity to take the all-new 2011 VW Jetta for a spin around San Francisco, and like many others, came away impressed. And as these positive reviews continue to roll in for the new Jetta, we’ve begun to notice some prevalent themes. Clearly, people like the price and with good reason. The bang for your buck is unbeatable. Budgets are tight these days, and we’re doing our part to deliver the value. People like the best-in-class rear legroom.* And why shouldn’t they be? The Jetta’s rear-seat legroom is greater than that of the Civic and the Corolla. But what we’re hearing as much, if not more than anything else, is that the Jetta is now more aligned with American tastes. It’s a fascinating observation, and while we certainly have some thoughts on the subject, we’d love to know what you think about it.

What makes a car “appeal” to Americans? What is it about the 2011 Jetta that seems to have struck a chord? Take a look at the AP article linked below, and let us know what you think in the comments.
