“The Oprah Winfrey Show” knows a thing or two about surprising studio audiences. Back in November 2010, the show teased a silhouette of the 2012 Beetle as part of its final “Ultimate Favorite Things” episode. Then all 275 audience members received the surprise of their lives: a 21st Century Beetle of their own. Much rejoicing ensued.
One ultimate “Oprah” show fan, Justin, was picked to be in the audience that day, but there was a hitch: because Justin was five months shy of his 18th birthday, he wasn’t allowed to attend. Even though he was disappointed, Justin wrote to the “Oprah” show producers and said, “Although I was not at the show, I know something bigger and better will happen.” Maybe Justin should have said “something bigger and redder.” But we won’t ruin the surprise—watch the clip for yourself:

the only question i have about the new beetle is if it is a true beetle, does it float?
